Roles and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall country annual and strategic plans
• Implementation and supervision of Shinyanga Child Labour Programmes, including working with Mining Companies, Mercury Supply Chain, gold trading companies, government authorities in mining sector, labour unions and artisanal small scale gold mining companies as well as government ministries involved in services to children.
• Facilitate and organize training, meetings and learning processes with relevant stakeholders in Shinyanga
• Capacity building of partners for assigned part of partner and programme portfolio.
• Work on and maintain a good working relationship with project partners, government and companies.
• Enhance mutual understanding, cooperation and respect for respective responsibilities without compromising on supervisory responsibilities.
• Support quality of programmes and monitor the programmes and project partners through regular communications and programme visits according to the TDH guidelines and monitoring protocol.
• Support the marketing communication department with information and materials for marketing and communication, e.g. for the newsletters.
• Inform relevant persons/organizations/institutions on support given to project partners, project activities and expected results.
• Ensure that all scheduled partner and project reports such as progress reports and financial reports are delivered timely and that they are of good quality, analyze the received information and compile the necessary reports.
• Maintain the database and regularly update project documentation/ files for reference by all concerned.
• Maintain clear financial records and develop financial reports concerning activities implemented, as per the TDH guidelines.
• Analysis of future project proposals and project partners - context analysis, budgets, etc. and discuss the analysis with the Country Manager in preparation for final decision making.
• Prepare the necessary documentation for approval of new and on-going partnerships and project proposals according to the TDH guidelines and formats.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of development cooperation, sociology, law, child protection and child rights and/or education minimum up to bachelor level.
• Three years of experience in a similar position in a similar organization (International NGO, child rights programmes)
• Knowledge of and experience in project planning, project cycle management and logical framework
• Experience with Child Rights based programming and civil society organizations is a prerequisite
• Experience with programme management and financial management
• Knowledge of the political, religious and social structures of Tanzania/ Shinyanga region and the relevant languages
• Excellent writing skills in English, good knowledge of Kiswahili, an additional language is an asset

• Ability to work independently, who is well organized and has accurate writing skills
• Presentation and facilitation skills, as well as ability to represent TDH in meetings
• Person who will display and adhere to values and principles as per TDH policy on child protection and staff behavior/presentation

Management and Leadership of all RCH/PMTCT activities

Assuring technical performance of RCH/PMTCT programs

• In collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) department, to coordinate and ensure timely delivery of quality PMTCT data and reports for effective program management.
• Responsible for coordinating the provision of adequate technical support to AGPAHI sub-grantees and relevant stakeholders.
• To collaborate with AGPAHI  Program Managers, and Awards and compliance (A&C) team in developing and reviewing sub-grantees’ proposals to assure realistic target setting and adequate allocation of resources
• To collaborate with RPM and compliance team in comparing the programmatic versus financial performance of sub-grantees
• To facilitate quality Improvement (QI) of Service Delivery
• Program Coordinator, RCH/PMTCT is responsible to coordinate and monitor the implementation of QI activities for PMTCT program in Shinyanga, Geita and Simiyu regions.
• In collaboration with Quality Improvement Manager, Program Coordinator, RCH/PMTCT to coordinate QI capacity building activities on PMTCT program for AGPAHI technical team and partners at regional, district and facility levels and oversee the use of QI approach  in improving PMTCT program and facilities performance.
• Responsible for the compilation and submission of PMTCT reviewed reports on QI to Quality Improvement Manager

Reporting and Communication;

• To actively involve the Technical Director, RPM and RPC in all relevant communication in relation to the Organization
• In collaboration with the Program Officers M&E, to coordinate timely submission of high quality quarterly, semi-annual and annual PMTCT progress reports to EGPAF
• Responsible for the timely submission of work plans, reports on activities performed, or any other report, as required by Technical Director
• Responsible for the timely reporting on PMTCT program challenges to the Technical Director and relevant other AGPAHI staff members
• The Program Coordinator, RCH/PMTCT, in collaboration with the relevant technical staff in Dar and Shinyanga to facilitate the timely and effective communication of important technical and programmatic information to AGPAHI sub-grantees and other relevant stakeholders’ e.g EGPAF-Tanzania
• To participate in the preparation and submission of written documents related to PMTCT program

• Represent AGPAHI   at regional and National meetings as requested by the Technical Director


Reflective practice and organizational learning;

• Document lessons learnt on PMTCT program and provide inputs into the way forward/best practices for project implementation
• Assist in the dissemination of lessons learnt and better practices from the PMTCT program


Qualifications, Skills & Ability:

• Advanced diploma or degree in medical related field
• 2-3 years’ experience in the NGO sector and working on USG funded programs
• Training experience in RCH/PMTCT according to the MoHSW guidelines will be preferred.
• Experience in providing RCH / PMTCT services.
• Ability to write analytical reports.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager Hygiene, Health and will lead, coordinate, and manage water, sanitation, and hygiene (ClTS and WASH) activities being implemented in three districts and provide backstopping for and on behalf of UMATA/GSF. He/she will also ensure that health related activities are focused on the development of appropriate environmental health and behavioral change interventions as part of overall UMATA project.

Specific Responsibilities:

•Program Execution: lead overall planning, execution, M&E coordination and reporting for consortium activities in Bahi, Chamwino and Kongwa Districts. The PM will compile activities reports for submission to CRS Program Director and other program stakeholders.
•Representation: The Project Manager will represent CRS at consortium and overall UMATA Program level. Be the key point person for SG S, 6 and 7 Hygiene, sanitation and health activities.
•Staff management: The project Manager will supervise, lead, mentor and coach health, hygiene and sanitation Project Officers (6) in the three districts, one accountant and one M&E Project Officer. She/he will also ensure that Performance management is consistent and supportive.

Qualifications:

•Master's degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, sociology or related fields or a BSc and equivalent experience. At least 3-5 years' demonstrated experience implementing Community led Total Sanitation ((lTS), and 5-8 years working in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) Programming
•Experience implementing participatory approaches such as PHAST, CHAST and Barrier Analysis, experience in formative research would be an added advantage
•Knowledge and understanding of gender analysis and transformation in rural communities Good communication skills, good capacity to work in a multi-cultural team.
•Experience managing Projects with strong M&E skills, and staff supervision
•Ability and willingness to work long hours in the field, to work independently, meet deadlines and keep supervisor informed.
•Knowledge of, and skill in using, various computer software including Word, Excel and Outlook Fluency in Swahili and English
