Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Sample handling


*Conducts delivery and collection of specimens from outlying laboratories, supporting doctors and clients to ensure that specimens, reports and other goods arrive at correct destinations timeously and in good condition to increase customer service levels.

*Scans specimens and results on the Courier Management Programme to ensure t hat all deliveries and collections can be tracked and traced.

*Completes and signs proof of delivery for specimens or reports collected or delivered to endure records are kept for tracking purposes if and when applicable.


Document management


*Properly deliver all documents and parcels to rightful owners.

*Maintaining confidentiality of all company documents

*Liaising with Laboratory quality officers and managers in ensuring all documents are updated.

*Implement all QMS procedures


Regulatory Affairs


*Ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to.

*Assist the Laboratory Manager with compliance with various regulatory authorities where required.

*Up to date and Valid driving permit.


QC process


*Record trend analysis by capturing findings from internal audit and external audit reports for the purpose of identifying training needs, and for input into management review


Health & Safety


*Utilizes protective wear (such as specimen bags, gloves, eye specs etc) to ensure own safety and adherence to the Health and safety regulations policy.

*Maintain daily safe keeping and fault reporting on Lancet’s assets (such as vehicles, petrol cards, uniforms etc) and equipment to ensure that they remain in good condition to provide excellent collection and delivery of goods and shuttle services.

*Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with relevant legislation and all safety protocols. This includes the correct handling patient samples.

*Ensure that incidents and working tools failures are reported to Transport supervisor, thereby ensuring compliance with relevant organizational policy and laboratory standard operating procedures.

Purpose of the position: To provide safe and reliable transport service to the designated staff and guests of AGPAHI in a highly professional and efficient  manner, at the same time, adhere to the organization policies and  follow road safety standards.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Maintains and keeps up to date log books on daily basis indicating the kms, trip description  and responsible person
• Operate the official vehicle in accordance with AGPAHI regulations, know and observe all  applicable traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations, and always use road safety standards
• Vehicle driver assumes all responsibility for any and all fines or traffic violations associated with his use of AGPAHI vehicle
• Regular inspection and cleanliness of the vehicle and ensure general maintenance service as specified in the Manufacturer’s manual. • Checks and logs daily mileage, petrol consumption, oil changes, etc.
• Advise the Administration on minor or major repairs as soon as the problem is detected
• Drives the project/office staff at the required destinations
• Assist in the delivery/collection of mail, equipment, supplies, documents to partners and  other institutions as required.
• Send copy of vehicle logbook at the end of every week to the Administration for computing and charging mileage costs to appropriate costs centers
• Liaise regularly with Administrative/HR Officer on weekly activities
• Assist in any other duties as required

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Certificate of secondary education
•  A valid driving license class C
•  Skills in minor vehicle repairs an added advantage
•  Five years of proven accident-free , vehicle driving
•  Written and spoken Kiswahili and English
•  Certificate from National Institute of Transportation is an added advantage

Reports: HR and Administration Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out minor repair, such as fixing punctures, cleaning spark plugs or adjusting carburettor.
Keep and maintain the vehicle and accessories in good condition. Supervise and verify regular servicing and repairs of the vehicle.
Maintain vehicle log book and record all movements accurately and timely Verify repair undertaken on the vehicle.
Report on major problems of the vehicle.
Carry and deliver mail and parcels from KUWASA to other offices.
Ensure that proper actions as required by rule and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident.
Observe governing traffic rules and regulations as regards to vehicle handling.
Advise the supervisor on vehicle abnormal operation that might have negative impact on performance. •

Qualification

Holder of form IV/VI with Trade test I (Driving and mechanics) with a clean and valid class C driving license with. Mechanics knowledge will be an added advantage.
Attended driving course from the National Institute of transport/VETA or any reputable institution experienced in driving public vehicles.
At least two years working experience.

•Chair daily mechanics’ and drivers’ monthly meetings
•On job training to mechanics
•Reporting on vehicle accidents to company owned vehicles

•Reports to the General Manager.

Requirements:

•Masters Degree in Transport Management or a related field and at least 8 years working experience in similar responsibilities.

•By promotion of Assistant Manager, Transport who has demonstrated outstanding performance, and worked in that capacity for at least 2 years. Depending on availability of position.
