Position Summary:

The Clinical Officer will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care within established protocols and standards in clinical trial facility.


Duties and Responsibilities:


*Treat patients according to National Guidelines for Clinical Management, Standard Treatment Guidelines and Local guidelines

*To review laboratory results and resolve quires related to data collected.

*To attend internal and external meeting conducted at facility during study conduct.

*To attend two Departmental Meeting in each financial year.

*To participate in the development of study standard operating procedure and study documents.

*To recruit, follow up as study scheduled as specified by each protocol and SOPs.

*To ensure that protocol standard operating procedures and all related study documents are well communicated and duly followed by all personnel involved in the trial.

*To ensure that all ethical concerns in the protocols approved by the review board are duly followed in the trial.

*Supervise study procedure and ensure ring that are all done well as per approved protocol ICH Guidelines and relevant local regulation (National Institute of Medical Research and Tanzania Food and Drug Authority).

*To work in professional and ethical manner accountability and integrity.

*To attend community sensitization meeting to recruit study volunteer.

*Carry out additional duties as assigned by project leader


Qualification and Experience


*Diploma in clinical medicine

*At least one year of working experience


Skills and Competencies


*Time management to establish priorities and planning the project timelines.

* Knowledge of good clinical practice (GCP).

*Excellent computer skills.

*Self-motivated individual who is able to work with minimal supervision.

Title: ENTOMOLOGIST

Main Purpose:

Organizing, implementing and designing the aspects related to understanding the malaria vector in the project according to MSF’s protocols, tools and procedures in order to ensure quality medical care in the community and improve the population’s health condition


Accountabilities:


o Understanding the National Vector control policy and ensuring that actions comply with this strategy. Improving understanding of the malaria vector in MSF interventions areas: behaviour, strength, transmission, mapping, seasonality. Reviewing existing studies in the field (if any), and coordination sites on malaria to gain an overall impression. Contributing to the understanding of malaria transmission by per forming an environmental assessment of the alert site.

o In collaboration with the PMR/deputy PMR, defining the areas with high morbidity and most affected by malaria and help to make appropriate decisions, which includes part of vector control. Interpreting the increase in malaria cases in the surveillance zones using information on understanding the vector and participating in exploratory missions in regular projects or outside the province as needed, giving the necessary support to the identification of relevant data.

o Defining, planning, and organizing the annual plan of entomological activities in close collaboration with other team members and the budget associated to improve the effectiveness of vector control responses.

o Proposing anti Vector control approaches and practices in prevention adapted to the context, including (if applicable) strategies as intra house spraying, or other actions not already done by MSF. An effort should be made to incorporate more innovative and sustainable actions, respectful with the environment

o Performing vector trapping and identification, as well as vector packaging, transportation and other tests as needed

o Monitoring mosquito resistance to different insecticides, establishing better products, and implementing strategies to reduce the creation of resistance in the country.

o Supporting the medical team in the analysis and interpretation of data collected, focusing on the vector. This allows to take the most appropriate decisions regarding the establishment of vector control interventions. Together with the PMR and medical team, submitting a concept note for research topics in the field of malaria.

o Implement Indoor residual sprays (IRS) in Nduta Hospital and the refugee camp, as well as Larviciding intervention in the camp following the National guidelines and MSF standards

o Defining the areas with high morbidity and most affected by malaria and helping in making appropriate decisions in collaboration with the PMR and Medical team

o Contributing to the understanding of malaria transmission by performing an environmental assessment of the alert site and improving understanding of malaria vectors in MSF intervention areas

o Reviewing existing malaria interventions and on malaria and proposing Vector control approaches and practices adapted to the context.

o Supporting the analysis and interpretation of data collected to allow taking the most appropriate decisions regarding the establishment of vector control interventions.

o Performing mosquito trapping and identification, packaging and transportation as well as and other tests as needed

o Monitoring mosquito resistance to different insecticides used in vector control interventions.


Minimum Educational Qualification:

o Bachelor degree in Entomology a relevant field with previous experience


Experience:

• At least 2 years in MSF or 2 years in a similar post

o Professional experience with MSF or another NGO desirable.

o Professional work experience in a development country desirable


Knowledge:

• Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)


Languages:

Fluency in English and Kiswahili.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Male Circumcision (MC) Program Officer will provide assistance both programmatic and in clinical direction in implementation of Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) activities, so as to achieve the greatest coverage and impact as possible. The MC Program Officer reports to the MC Program Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Carry out program assessments, health facility capability assessments and training needs in the region.
• Assist in organizing and carrying out training programs for health care workers to deliver VMMC services in the regions as well as clinical implementation of VMMC program for HIV prevention.
• Provide technical support, mentoring and supervision to implementing partners in the area of VMMC services and other HIV prevention interventions and ensuring quality improvement and quality assurance in delivering VMMC services.
• Assist in developing and implementing community and stakeholder sensitization for MC.
• Ensure consistent availability of VMMC supplies, equipments and consumables for VMMC services in all static as well as mobile and outreach VMMC facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

•Co-ordination of district support to provide Integrated HIV/AIDS Services
•Work closely with sub-grantees to coordinate program planning, implementation and monitoring of integrated RCH/PMTCT activities, early infant diagnosis, TB/HIV collaborative activities and Care and Treatment services.
•Liaise with laboratory and SCM EGPAF teams to support supply chain management services that ensures availability of HIV commodities at all levels within the districts

Program monitoring

•Monitor districts to utilize the obligated fund in the given program according the agreement in the proposals

•Prepare follow up action plans of support provided and monitor its implementation
•Write trip reports and submit to the Regional Program Coordinator as required in a proper and timely manner
•Assist districts and their respective sites in analyzing data of all program components (RCHI PMTCT, EID, C&T, TB collaborative activities, community services and SCM to achieve planned targets
•Provide support to districts to conduct quarterly review meetings to discuss program performance
•Assist district to monitor flow of HIV commodities to avoid overstock and stock outs
•In collaboration with Grants Officers (Gas), ensure timely financial cash requesting and provision of funds to subs as well as making follow up of program progress VS financial use.
