Job Title: Assistant Nursing Officer

Duty Station: Dar Es Salaam

Duties to Include:

• Communicate with Doctors and other staff effectively and ensure services of efficient work flow
• Learn all Nursing procedures and instrumentation
• Translate information from patient to Doctor from Kiswahili to English and vice versa in case there is a language barrier between the doctor and the patient
• Ensure all the necessary preparation of the patient is done before the patient sees the doctor
• Prepare the room and all the necessary equipments for different clinics
• To care of working tools for example lenses, torch, A - Scan, B - Scan, Laser Machine, slit lamp, direct and indirect ophthalmoscope
• To care of hospital documents e.g. Patients files, patients medical report, investigation forms etc
• Communicate sensitive information concerning adult and child patient’s medical condition
• Assemble instruments and equipments e.g. Suture removal tray, foreign body removal tray etc
• Participate in developing clinical protocols and procedures
• Stand at slit lamps/assist Doctors/operating table and moving patients, equipment several times a day when requested and necessary
• Control patient flow in the department which should have smooth patient flow
• Create a comfortable environment for patients
• Accountable for own professional actions

Work Experience / Skills:
• Computer literate
• Good customer care
• Good communication skills

Qualifications:
• Holder of Diploma in Nursing
