Job Description:

Duties and responsibilities:

• Develop a plan for capacity building in M&E including computer-based support that may be required, organize and undertake training with stakeholders in M&E skills including participatory aspects
• Guide staff and implementing partners in preparing progress reports, and then together analyse these reports in terms of problems and actions needed
• Check that monitoring data are discussed in the appropriate forum and in a timely manner for future actions; if necessary create such discussion forum to fill any gap
• Support external missions and facilitate missions team members' access to M&E and to stake holders
• Gathering and analysis of information to contribute into evidence reporting, networking and sharing.
• Work closely with the Learning and Accountability Adviser in the UK and participate in cross-country programme exchange and initiatives

Qualification and experience:

• A degree in Social sciences particularly research statistics or equivalent qualification.
• Masters degree in Social sciences will be an added advantage"
• Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative social research techniques or M&E experience in projects/programmes environment
• Experience in developing, maintaining and manipulating large data bases and using analytical tools for research processes

Competencies:

• Knowledge of disability rights and experience in undertaking disability issues
• Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to apply them in project/programme Monitoring & Evaluation environment
• Ability to work collaboratively while assuming leadership roles
• Undertaking Theory of Change (ToC), the logical framework approach and other planning approaches
• Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent command in both
• English arid Swahili is a prerequisite
