Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assisting with the development of Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy
• Identifying individual programmes and priorities for funding, and organise fundraising campaigns
• Keeping track of donor funding trends and priorities and communicating this to the senior management to ensure Islamic Help programmes are in line
• Planning and coordinating fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives
• Recruiting volunteers to assist with fundraising activities and events
• Producing supporting materials to promote our fundraising activity
• Identifying funding opportunities, locally, nationally and internationally and contribute to the development of Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy
• Administering fundraising income by keeping reports and tracking donations as well as donor correspondence
• Identifying partnership opportunities
• Any other duties commensurate with the post

Key Competencies:

• Experience in marketing
• Experience desirable in fundraising and Event Management
• Good written, oral communication skills in English and Swahili
• Degree level or equivalent qualification
• A demonstrated ability for strategic thinking creative writing and problem solving
• Competence in the use of internet; Excel, Word
• Ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines and adapt to change
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills

Knowledge and skills requirements:

• Demonstrate excellence & expertise in the fields of marketing. Demonstrate an understanding of the environment of planning and investments. Demonstrate experience in the management of a team at a professional level
• The minimum required qualification for this position is a relevant degree qualification. A relevant degree qualification (BA or equivalent qualification) would be highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 years work experience in marketing and fundraising.
